"Charity work should not be needed today, people should look after themselves"

NGOs are currently working in many underdeveloped countries suffering from war, hunger and poverty. The question is, is their work really necessary? Is charity work helping these countries?

I strongly believe it is a need for those who don't have the resources we have in more developed countries. Children whose parents are dead, families who have lost their homes, places where electricity and water is no longer available for everyone, etc, those are the ones in need, the ones whose only hope are NGOs. They should provide them what they need to survive: water, electricity, food, a health service, a home and education.

In addition to the work NGOs do, I think the government should also contribute and help these countries by sending helps to the most vulnerable people. 

Furthermore, charity work also changes the way you see the world. It makes you discover other people's reality and realize how lucky we are to be born where we were born and to have received the education our parents gave us. 

All in all, I feel that NGOs are completely necessary and can make a difference which can change people's lives. Not just the the people that receiving the help, but also the ones giving.

Nowadays, a lot of people are joining to help people in risky situations. Charity work is something that is increasing aware because we known that the world is wrong and some people take conscience, to feel better about helping others and themselves.

Personally, I think that everyone should help others who need it the most. Only  with a simple gesture, like volunteering, donating money or giving eat resources, they can change the whole world for some people that do not have anything.

Furthermore, charity is completely altruistic and non-profit, but there are people just only do it to give a good impression and for boast, the objective is not these, but then, if they are going to do it just for these reasons, it will mean that they are not understanding the people and they are not aware of the situations of people who are not well.

To sum up, I think that charity is completely altruistic and non-profit, and you have to do it with the objective for help, so if you have to do it only for the impression don’t do it.  But if in the future you look in that situation, you would like someone to support you and help you.

Many people think that the NGOs are not necessary to help people who don't have basic needs, such as not having a house to live or something to eat every day.

In my opinion, I disagree with this type of thoughts. I think that we are lucky because we were born and we live in a country we consider of the first world. Because of that, we should help people who weren't as lucky as us and they are living in countries we consider of the third world. They don't have almost anything to eat and to find water they have to walk kilometres. For example, in Ethiopia "Help in Action" has built a well in Wolaita that has improved the lives of members of the community of Hemecho.

Furthermore, I also believe that NGOs have to exist because in many countries the government does not take care of the needs of its people and prefer to keep the money in their pockets rather than make their voters have a better life.

To sum up, in my opinion I believe that NGOs are necessary because governments do not give the necessary help to their citizens, apart from the fact that NGOs have done many projects to help people like building wells, schools or bringing food to those who need it.

Opinion Essay- Aina Val

Nowadays, many non-governmental organizations and charities help people who doesn’t have enough resources to live in good conditions or improve these. Some people survive depending on the work of these organizations, for that reason, I think that is very important the work that they do.

Personally, I believe that the main reason why in our society we need the help of these NGO, whone that do many good things for the people that need it, is because in this world there are a lot of inequality between the different countries and especially between continents. This is why the countries who live without resources they need a lot of help from the more developed countries.

Moreover, there is another important reason why the work of NGOs is essential: the more developed countries have very corrupt governments, who should help do the countries without resources. How governments don’t contribute all they can to this cause that's why the NGOs have to do it.

In conclusion, from the two previous ideas, I think the work of NGOs is very important and completely necessary to improve the welfare of the the countries without resources.
